Silicon Valley Data Science at Strata 2014

January 30th, 2014

We’ll be out in force at Strata 2014! Join us for our tutorial and presentation sessions:

  • Building A Big Data Platform — A three hour tutorial, explaining how the various parts of the Hadoop and big data ecosystem fit together in production to create a data platform supporting batch, interactive and realtime analytical workloads.
  • Stand Back, I’m Going To Try Science — A presentation reviewing the “design” and “experiment” side of experimenation, from systematic data collection to basic statistical applications, including experiments with multiple factors. We will discuss examples ranging from understanding the performance impact of system improvements, to understanding customer sensitivity to electricity prices.
  • Navigating The Big Data Vendor Landscape — The data world is exploding with life, but the downside about big data vendors is that there’s so many of them. Anybody implementing data solutions has to navigate this landscape. Who will you choose, and how will your choice affect your future options?
  • You Don’t Need to Boil the Big Data Ocean with Hadoop — A discussion about where to embark upon your big data journey. We are joining Platfora to talk about where to start, designing for success, and how to make impact through big data.

You can also sign up to meet our speakers 1:1 at the Strata 2014 Office Hours.

Strata 2014 will be held February 11-13, 2014, in Santa Clara, California.
